Prescription Drug Turn-In Event

Do you have unwanted or unused medications around your home?
Then here's an Rx TIP for you!
On September 17, 2010 the second Prescription Drug Turn-In Event Program (Rx TIP) will be at UCC's Conference on Extraordinary Living! This program is sponsored Oregon Medical Association Alliance (OMAA), Umpqua Community College and Umpqua Partners. The Rx TIP event will be Saturday, September 17 at the Umpqua Community College Campus Center from Noon through 2:30 PM. This free event is designed to educate the public, safely rid homes of unwanted medicines, and call attention to the issue of prescription drug abuse. The Turn-In Event will provide members of our community an opportunity to bring their unwanted or expired medications to a central location for safe disposal. Prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted. All medicines should be left in their original containers. Personal information should be crossed out with marker, leaving the name of the medication visible. NOTE: Thermometers, needles, or medical waste of any type will NOT be accepted. This event is supported by The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, RoseburgPolice Department, and local Pharmacists. Help protect your family, your community, and the environment by properly disposing of unneeded medications.
