Do you call other parents or authorities to report unsafe situations, parties or gatherings?
It is important for you and other parents to be allies. Parents can't be everywhere their child is, and most parents would apprciate another parent letting them know if their child is in a dangerous situation.
- Attempt to contact the child’s parents first.
- Attempt to enlist the help of other parents in the vicinity.
- Do not let any teens drive away intoxicated.
- Compliment and assist any teens you see trying to resolve the situation.
- Be prepared for negative comments.
- Prepare your child for any negative comments they may hear. Explain how you did what you thought was the safest thing for everyone involved.
